Casa Cafe

St. Marys Street, Brecon LD3 7AA, UK – 01874 622229

This place is great. Simple healthy fun imaginative modern clean. I would go here every day if I didn't live 4 hours away! Slight criticism though...one day I had a Mediterranean salad box to take away and the aubergine was still hard. I've never heard of el dente aubergine...it needs to be cooked well...and the salad leaves were slimy!Just a bad day cause usually it's great...and particularly their cakes. Nice quiet street and the table layout is welcoming.

Awesome place, great for vegans and such a beautiful environment. Staff really friendly and food is great! Can't wait to go back!

Zeera

103 The Struet, Brecon LD3 7LT, UK – 01874 610746

Love this Indian, the food is amazing and the customer services is great too. All the staff are friendly and easy to approach. Even got a lesson on how they fold they're napkins which me and my mother thought was nice of them after we had failed to do it by ourselves. Reasonably priced but an overall great experience, will defiantly be come back for a meal in the restaurant. They also do takeaway which is nice if you don't want to sit in.

Not a bad local takeaway. Food is better then average however the prices are not competitive with other local takeaways. The food hygiene score is also not good.

HILLS

Bishops Meadow, Hay Rd, Brecon LD3 9SW, UK – 01874 611714

Today was the first time I’ve ever been here. I was sitting there drinking this amazing home made milkshakes whiles watching one of the chefs there put together my food with love and passion! There was no rush to eat and leave, I was made to feel welcome to stay as long as I wanted! The service was friendly with out feeling that the staff where trying to hard! Fantastic place to eat and will definitely be back with more friends! Cheers guys

I have to say that the Hills Burger is the most tastiest I have ever ever had. Build your own is awesome. Try the homemade onion rings which are fabulous. The Restaurant is spotless and the staff are very helpful and friendly, Kieron who was our waiter went above and beyond to make sure our evening was enjoyable. Shall definitely be returning.

The Gurkha Corner

12 Glamorgan St, Brecon LD3 7DW, UK – 01874 610871

This is a nice Nepalese restaurant in Brecon. I have eaten there before and the food is excellent. On my most recent trip there I have a couple of Gurkha beers which I would recommend. I would advise you to reserve a table during the holiday seasons and also on a Friday and Saturday evening as it gets very busy. It is only a small restaurant but that adds to its character. I would recommend a visit to the The Gurkha Corner restaurant in Brecon.

Reached when lunch time was about to get over.. cozy place with tasty food. I ordered mushroom cauliflower peas gravy with naan and my husband ordered chicken gravy dish and pulao rice. Everything was damn tasty and since then i am looking for another Nepali restaurant locally... The bill was around 27£ that included one cobra beer. I must also mention important that the bathroom was spotless and very clean. I loved it.

Llanddew Chinese Restaurants

Sunnys

7 Castle St, Brecon LD3 9DD, UK – 01874 623504

Much better since last time I visited a couple of years ago, the new owners have made a big difference. Will definitely be buying from there more often.

Pepper and salt chips are amazing. Freshly cooked not from a freezer.

Brecon Kebab House

44 High Street Inferior, Brecon LD3 7AP, UK – 01874 625255

Always good food. Always helpful. Always willing to get you exactly what you want.

Good, tasty, cheap food. Perfect recovery meal for after a long slog in the mountains or a night out in Brecon. My go to brecon takeaway.

Llanddew Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Chang Thai Cuisine

50 High St, Brecon LD3 7AP, UK – 01874 622330

Chang Thai Cuisine is in the old Cognac pub building. They have refurbished it very nicely and not over the top Thai style. We were one of the first in for the evening but there was a certain amount of confusion over what we had ordered, an extra coke that we ended up paying for. Our starters of veg spring rolls and fish cakes were very good and presented well. The mains became very confused, wrong rice quickly corrected but ended up with 3 mains, 1 of which was definitely correct but not sure which of the other 2 we should really have had! Despite all this the food itself was very good. We had missed one vital point. You can only pay cash! Really not good enough. Luckily we could still pay. Would go back as the food is worth it.

Food is excellent and it's extremely nice inside. But I have twice been a customer once for a takeaway and once eating in. I didn't check my bill or change particularly well when having a takeaway: the 10% advertised discount was not applied and I was given an old pound coin. Then when eating in, 2 beers that we didn't have appeared on the bill. Eat here by all means as cannot fault the food, but keep your wits about you.

Pilgrims Tearooms

Brecon Cathedral Cathedral Close, Brecon LD3 9DP, UK – 01874 610610

I live close to these tearooms and although I have visited our beautiful cathedral many times I'd not been to the tearooms before. Big mistake. It's a lovely place to relax either inside or out with a cup of tea or coffee or choose something tasty to eat. I just sat breathing in the fresh air and enjoyimg the peace of the gardens. Did me a power of good and I look forward to coming again soon.

Friendly quaint little cafe tearoom, very reasonably priced, nice to sit outside, if you befriend the ginger tomcat he will stay with you for all your visit

Brecon Castle Hotel - Restaurant

Castle Square, Brecon LD3 9DB, UK – 01874 624611

Very grand hotel. Nice room, comfortable bed, very clean. Perfect location above the town, next to castle. Within a short walk from towns amenities. Views from the front lawns of the surrounding hills and coutryside quite exquisite. Lovely place to enjoy a drink in the summer. Our evening meals were delicious and the breakfast was excellent. Apart from an overzealous shower couldn't really fault our stay.

Had a lovely time in Brecon. hotel great and all the staff are friendly. Great walks . Will be coming back. .

The Rorkes Drift

4 Wheat St, Brecon LD3 7DG, UK – 01874 611400

Very modern sports bar with TV's everywhere! We went to watch the World Cup, and apart from it being a bit to warm,it was a great place to watch the games.

Lovely atmosphere with nice decor and very welcoming hosts. We watched a six nations match here & ended up staying for the whole evening. Free hot dogs after match was a very nice touch. Will definitely visit again.

Brecon Tap

6 Bulwark, Brecon LD3 7LB, UK – 01874 623888

Best pie you'll ever eat. Service is great and the ales are always being changed to something new. Great for couples, families and everyone really (it's even dog friendly) The only thing I would say is that if there were more side options available with the pie, it would be even better. I'm not a huge fan of the root vegetables or red cabbage so I don't have many other options to choose from. Surprised that chips aren't an option. Love the place though, will always keep coming back! My favourite pie is the Moroccan Lamb but you don't do that anymore! Steak and Ale is also an excellent choice. They stop serving pies around 3pm I think so try to go before then if you can. Staff are very friendly too and will be more than willing to help you pick an ale. keep up the good work and see you again soon!

A welcoming pub with top notch pub grub, including lovely vegan pies, with unusual choice of sides, such as lemon broccoli rice and aromatic chickpeas, plus all the usual favourites. Excellent service. We will be back next time we are in Brecon!
